Our Cub Scout Dens

Cub Scout Pack 3963 serves families across Jefferson Park, Portage Park, and the Northwest Side of Chicago. Our dens are organized by grade level, allowing Scouts to learn, grow, and explore with peers their own age.

Pack 3963 meets at Eden United Church of Christ, located at 5051 W Gunnison St, Chicago, IL 60630.

Lion Den (Kindergarten)

Lions are our youngest Scouts, beginning their Cub Scout journey with simple, fun activities designed to introduce teamwork, creativity, and outdoor exploration. Lions attend meetings with a parent or guardian.

Typical Activities:

  • Nature walks
  • Simple crafts
  • Introductory games and teamwork

Tiger Den (1st Grade)

Tigers begin building independence while still working closely with their adult partners. They explore the outdoors, learn basic skills, and participate in hands-on adventures.

Typical Activities:

  • Outdoor games
  • STEM experiments
  • Community service basics

Wolf Den (2nd Grade)

Wolves build confidence through more challenging activities, including outdoor skills, teamwork, and leadership opportunities.

Typical Activities:

  • Hiking and outdoor skills
  • Introductory first aid
  • Team-building challenges

Bear Den (3rd Grade)

Bears take on more advanced projects and outdoor adventures, learning responsibility and practical skills that prepare them for Webelos.

Typical Activities:

  • Woodworking projects
  • Outdoor cooking
  • Community service

Webelos (4th Grade)

Webelos begin transitioning toward Scouts BSA, learning advanced outdoor skills, leadership, and responsibility. They participate in more challenging adventures and overnight camping.

Typical Activities:

  • Camping trips
  • Fire building and safety
  • Leadership development

Arrow of Light (5th Grade)

Arrow of Light is the highest rank in Cub Scouts. These Scouts prepare for the transition to Scouts BSA through advanced outdoor skills, leadership, and teamwork.

Typical Activities:

  • Overnight camping
  • Leadership projects
  • Scouts BSA preparation
